About Julie E. Trott

Julie has spent a lifetime living and working in the Australian bush. As a beef cattle grazier in Queensland, the changing seasons, native birds and everyday rhythms of country life have shaped both her life and her photography.

Photography grew naturally from that connection. Rather than seeking dramatic moments, Julie is drawn to the quiet ones—the behaviour, relationships and personalities that reveal themselves only through patience, observation and time spent in nature.

Alongside her photography, Julie is also a published bush poet, local singer-songwriter and oil painter. Across each creative pursuit runs the same thread: a deep appreciation for Australia's landscapes, wildlife and rural way of life.

Today, Julie continues to live on the family property in Queensland's South Burnett with her daughter and granddaughter. Whether photographing a tiny fairy-wren or following the remarkable journey of a Wedge-tailed Eagle family, her hope is simple—to share the beauty of Australia's wild birds exactly as they are.

Julie’s first book ‘Before the Eagle Flies’ is an example of her need to share natures work at its finest.
